  • V K Gupta took over as additional director in the Central Bureau of Investigation. He was serving as additional secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission
  • Ketan Desai resigned as President of Medical Council of India. He has been arrested on graft charges.
  • Supreme Court of India refused to grant stay against the judgement of Andhra Pradesh High Court on Mudiraj Community case which set aside the Government Order transferring the community from Group D to Group A.
  • In order to promote tourism, Karnataka government decided to allow private parties to purchase 5 acres of agricultural land from farmers in 100 selected popular tourist places for hotel construction. The government is thinking upon amending the Karnataka Land Revenue Act to this effect.
  • The central government extended ban on LTTE by 2 more years on the report that a plan to regroup is there.
  • Special Investigation team which probes into 2002 riots in Gujarat submitted report to Supreme Court. Former CBI Director R.K.Raghavan is its head.
  • The much awaited Nuclear Liability Bill has been referred to parliamentary standing committee by the Chairman of Rajya Sabha. T.Subbarami Reddy is the head of this committee.
  • The Central Government has cleared the appointment of Dr.Ratan Kumar Sinha as the new Director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. S.Banerjee is the present Director.
  • The Supreme Court has directed all the states to implement the Justice Padmanabhan Committee recommendations on revised payscales for judicial officers with effect from January 1, 2006.
  • Boeing Business Development is eyeing to work with ISRO on moon mission. Boeing has offered many technical assistance to ISRO.
