(Jan 1 to Jan 7) General Bipin Rawat became the first CDS of India. CDS is the acronym for Chief of Defence Staff. He paid tribute at National War Memorial near India Gate in New Delhi. Manoj Mukund Naravane succeded Mr.Rawat as Chief of Army Staff. He wore an Olive Green Uniform with insignia of two crossed swords, eagle, anchor and Ashok symbol.
